Johan Mjallby seeks clarification over duo's future

Celtic assistant manager Johan Mjallby urges Joe Ledley and Georgios Samaras to decide whether they wish to remain with the club.

Celtic assistant manager Johan Mjallby has declared that he intends to dispel speculation surrounding the future of Joe Ledley and Georgios Samaras as soon as possible.

The duo are approaching the end of their existing contracts, and Neil Lennon's deputy has called for both players to clarify whether they wish to remain with the Scottish champions.

"There are offers on the table but it's up to them to obviously come back to us and say want they want," BBC Sport quotes Mjallby as saying.

"For us it's going to be a hard situation, them not wanting to be here. We can't just let them run down their contract, even if they are terrific players and very important players."

Celtic extended their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to 10 points this afternoon with a 2-0 victory over Hearts.
