Celtic's Neil Lennon wants Gary Hooper stay

Celtic manager Neil Lennon repeats his desire to keep Gary Hooper at the club.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has made it clear that he wants Gary Hooper to stay at the club.

Queens Park Rangers are reported to be keen on sealing a move for the 25-year-old striker.

"It's between Gary's representatives and the club in question but for the time being he's still a Celtic player," Sky Sports News quotes Lennon as saying.

"I'm hoping to speak to him - I haven't had the chance in the past week or so. His mind may be elsewhere, this has been protracted now for a few weeks, but I'll just make it clear he's welcome here and we want him to stay."

Hooper has returned to the Celtic squad for the second leg of their Champions League qualifier against Cliftonville on Tuesday.
