Kevin Theophile-Catherine says that he is targeting a place in France's World Cup squad next summer.

Cardiff City defender Kevin Theophile-Catherine is targeting a place in France's World Cup squad.

The right-back has adapted to life well with the Welsh side since his move in the summer, and revealed that he has his sights on a spot in the 23-man squad for next year's tournament in Brazil.

"Can I go to the World Cup? Why not?" Theophile-Catherine told Sky Sports News.

"It is one of my ambitions to the go the World Cup with France. I am French and of course I dream, like all French.

"I am 24 years old and I am working hard to make it happen."

The Bluebirds take on Arsenal in the Premier League this afternoon.
