Hull City have extended their unbeaten run to ten games while ending a string of five draws by seeing off playoff-chasing rivals Cardiff City this evening.
The visitors were ahead after just eight minutes when Kevin McNaughton inadvertently put into his own net from an Andy Dawson corner.
Few openings occurred in the remainder of the first period but the Tigers were two ahead early on in the second 45 when James Chester fired low past David Marshall in the 47th minute.
Aaron Mclean made it three eight minutes later by collecting Robert Koren's pass and breaking clear of the Bluebirds' defence and slotting home from six yards.
Three points for Hull means they climb to sixth while Cardiff drop out of the playoffs to eighth.
