Bournemouth and Cardiff City will go head-to-head at the Cardiff City Stadium on Wednesday night as both teams look to build on strong recent performances.

Bournemouth could only secure a point at home to Queens Park Rangers on the weekend, while Cardiff came away 1-0 winners from their trip to Preston North End.

We say: Cardiff City 2-2 Bournemouth

In what is likely to be a very competitive fixture, we see both sides having strong periods during the game. We are backing Bournemouth to return to scoring ways, but the Bluebirds will look to hold their own, resulting in the spoils being shared.

Two mid-table sides meet at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium this coming Wednesday as Preston North End travel to Queens Park Rangers.

Rangers enter this fixture after a well-fought draw away to in-form Bournemouth, while Preston suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Cardiff City.

We say: Queens Park Rangers 2-1 Preston North End

Both teams will see this fixture as an opportunity to bag all three points and we expect it to be a closely contested matchup. Rangers' attacking options may be the deciding factor and could be too much for Preston on the night. With that in mind, we expect to see a narrow win for the home team.

Garry Monk's Sheffield Wednesday welcome Brentford on Wednesday night after both sides were able to secure well-deserved wins at the weekend.

Wednesday were able to overcome Birmingham City 1-0 in a tight encounter at St Andrew's, whereas Brentford were able to defeat newly-promoted Coventry City 2-0.

The Wednesday players will be eyeing an opportunity to further eat into their points deficit, however in Brentford they face a tough test. We expect this to be a close contest, with the Bees taking a point back to London.

Watford vs. Blackburn (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Blackburn Rovers travel to North West London to face Watford on Wednesday night, as they attempt to close the gap on the Championship's playoff pack.

Rovers conceded late on Saturday, going down 1-0 to Chris Hughton's Nottingham Forest, while a fine strike from Joao Pedro was enough for Watford to see off Derby County.

Watford appear to be hitting their straps of late, and as many of their first team return to full fitness, we see this fixture as a tall order for Mowbray's Blackburn side. We expect Watford's quality to shine through in a convincing home win.

Stoke vs. Barnsley (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Stoke City will be looking to build on a positive start to the campaign when they host a winless Barnsley side in Wednesday's Championship clash at the bet365 Stadium.

The Potters beat Luton 2-0 at the weekend to climb into eighth, 14 places better off than managerless Barnsley, who have taken only two points from the first 15 on offer.

Stoke are winless in two home league games but their overall record this season is impressive, seeing them move into eighth in the Championship and reach the last eight of the EFL Cup.

Keeping out the opposition has been key for O'Neill's men and, if they can achieve that here, they boast the firepower to see off Barnsley and keep their good form going.
