Bury sack manager Lee Clark following run of three wins in 16 games

Bury announce the departure of manager Lee Clark following just three wins in 16 League One games.

Bury have announced that manager Lee Clark has been sacked with immediate effect.

The former Huddersfield Town boss took charge of the club in February last year and ended up guiding the team to League One safety.

This season, though, the Shakers sit second from bottom in the table having won just three of their 16 matches.

Clark told the club's official website: "I have enjoyed my time at Bury enormously and I wish the board, the players and the supporters all the very best for this season and beyond."

Alan Thompson has also vacated the role of assistant manager.
