Sean Dyche: 'No limit on new Burnley signings'

Burnley manager Sean Dyche admits that he has not set a limit to the number of new signings he is looking to make for the Clarets' upcoming Premier League campaign.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has claimed that he has not set a limit to the number of new signings he is looking to make for the Clarets' upcoming Premier League campaign.

The Lancashire club have already signed Marvin Sordell, Lukas Juktiewicz, Matthew Taylor, Michael Kightly, Matthew Gilks and Steven Reid as they prepare for their return to the top flight.

However, Dyche has stressed that, having won promotion with one of the smallest squads in the Championship, he needs to focus on quality rather than quantity.

The 43-year-old told the Lancashire Telegraph: "I don't think there is a definitive number that we need.

"People said all last season that we would never make it because 'they don't have a big enough squad' or 'they aren't fit enough' or 'they can't do this or can't do that'.

"There is no reason you can't achieve anything with what you have got so I don't think there is an exact number. It is more about getting the right quality and keeping players available, although there are no guarantees with that with injuries even though we did some good work with that last season."

Burnley kick off their campaign on Monday, August 18 at home to Jose Mourinho's Chelsea.
