Burnley boss Sean Dyche insists that his team fully deserved their 2-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship on Saturday.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has insisted that his side fully deserved Saturday's 2-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship.

Danny Ings and Sam Vokes got the goals at Hillsborough as the Clarets recorded their first win of the season.

"It was a deserved win," Dyche told the club's official website. "We had to hold on at the end. It really should have been 3-0 with a blatant penalty.

"Instead, they get a goal, the crowd get lifted and it's a different game. But I thought my lads defended magnificently."

Burnley continue their league campaign next Saturday when they welcome Yeovil Town to Turf Moor.
