Newly-relegated Burnley have announced the appointment of Frank McParland as sporting director.
The 56-year-old has previously worked with Clarets boss Sean Dyche at Watford and most recently left the role of director of football at Brentford.
McParland has also held the post of chief scout at Liverpool and he will aid Burnley's recruitment of players.
Speaking about the appointment, Clarets chief executive David Baldwin told the club website: "His recruitment of talent is well documented and he has huge experience in working with players from academy level all the way up to first team.
"We are confident this knowledge will be a big asset throughout the spine of our club as we look to recruit players both for the present and the future."
Burnley manager Dyche will continue to have the final say on player transfers.
