Jermaine Easter joins Bristol Rovers

Former Millwall centre-forward Jermaine Easter signs a permanent contract with Bristol Rovers.

Conference Premier side Bristol Rovers have completed the signing of Jermaine Easter, subject to the striker passing a medical.

The 32-year-old had been a free agent for a short period of time following his recent release by Championship outfit Millwall.

Talking to the club's official website, manager Darrell Clarke has revealed that Rovers beat off competition from a number of clubs to secure the frontman's services.

"Although Jermaine was keen to move to a club closer to his Cardiff home, he has come to us for all the right reasons," said Clarke.

"However, the fact that he was keen to be closer to home, it gave us an advantage when it came to signing a player of his calibre.

"He had a number of league clubs interested in signing him. He's enjoyed a good career since then but still has a lot to offer and it's a really good signing for us."

Easter, who is a 12-capped Wales international, has played for a host of clubs throughout his career, including Cambridge United, Wycombe Wanderers and Crystal Palace.
