Bristol City wait to appoint new boss

Bristol City chairman Colin Sexstone confirms that the club are unlikely to appoint a new manager before the weekend.

Bristol City chairman Colin Sexstone has confirmed that it is unlikely that the club will have a new manager in charge for Saturday's visit of Peterborough United.

The Robins have been without a manager since Keith Millen left the position last week, with the club sitting bottom of the Championship.

Former Southampton boss Steve Wigley has been in caretaker charge since Millen's departure.

"It's quite possible that we'll go into Saturday with the current coaches, with Steve acting as manager," Sexstone told BBC Radio Bristol.

"We need to do this thoroughly, which I think fans would expect us to do."

Sexstone also revealed that the club have received 60 applications for the job.
