Paddy McCourt joins Notts County on loan

Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Paddy McCourt will spend the rest of the season on loan with League One side Notts County.

Brighton & Hove Albion have announced that Paddy McCourt will spend the rest of the 2014-15 season on loan with Notts County in League One.

The midfielder joined the Seagulls in the summer, but has struggled for regular playing time under recently-appointed manager Chris Hughton.

Hughton told the club's website: "Paddy has been an excellent professional in my time here and before I joined, but unfortunately he hasn't been able to get the minutes on the pitch he would have wanted.

"So we wanted to get him some games and this loan to Notts County gives him the opportunity to go and play some regular first-team football. We also have the option, after 28 days, of a recall should we need to."

McCourt has made 14 appearances for Brighton this season, but has not featured since the 2-2 draw with Reading on Boxing Day.
