Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has emerged as a potential transfer target for Brighton & Hove Albion.
Toon boss Rafael Benitez is reportedly willing to part ways with the Serbian international, who has played just 18 Premier League minutes this season, following his three-match-ban for an elbow on West Ham United midfielder Manuel Lanzini.
According to The Sun, Brighton manager Chris Hughton sent scouts to watch the volatile striker in Serbia's 3-2 World Cup qualifier defeat against Austria on Friday.
Hughton is eager to strengthen his strike force when the window opens in the new year, with his side having scored just five goals this season.
Mitrovic has scored 17 goals in 67 appearances for Newcastle since joining in July 2015.
