Wigan Athletic's Adam Forshaw bid "unacceptable"

Wigan Athletic's second bid for Adam Forshaw has been branded "unacceptable" by Brentford boss Mark Warburton.

Brentford manager Mark Warburton has confirmed that the club have a rejected a second bid from Wigan Athletic for Adam Forshaw, an offer that he branded "unacceptable".

The ex-Everton academy player sat out Brentford's 3-2 pre-season victory over Premier League Crystal Palace due to the ongoing speculation regarding his future, and Warburton admitted that he is concerned about Forshaw's state of mind.

He was quoted by London 24 as saying: "Adam Forshaw is subject of a bid which is well documented. Any bid is unsettling to a young player. I'm concerned about his welfare – he's gone away for a couple of days to get his head straight.

"A bid is only a bid when it's realistic. When it comes in and unsettles a player – that's unacceptable. There's been a second bid which is totally unacceptable."

Forshaw joined Brentford from Everton in 2012.
