Andre Gray has admitted that it was not an easy decision for him to leave Brentford to join Burnley.
The 24-year-old forward moved to Turf Moor last week for a fee believed to be in the region of £9m.
Gray has admitted that the breaking-up of Mark Warburton's side under the club's new management structure played a part in his decision to leave Griffin Park.
"Because of how well Warbs did there was always going to be questions, but that wasn't the reason I left," he told Get West London.
"It was a very difficult decision to make, and I didn't expect that level of interest in me. I spoke to my family and agent, who is like family, but there was never any disrespect to Brentford.
"It's hard when a lot of players leave. The old team was breaking up, and it was was always going to be difficult without them. It wasn't the defining factor (in him leaving), but played a little part."
Gray netted 18 goals for Brentford last season.
