Brentford have reportedly reached an agreement with Everton over the signing of Neal Maupay.
Maupay left the Bees to join Brighton & Hove Albion back in 2019 after scoring 25 goals in the Championship during the 2018-19 season.
The 27-year-old striker only joined Everton last summer, but he has scored just one goal in 32 games for the Toffees.
Fabrizio Romano claims that a verbal agreement is in place to sign Maupay on a season-long-loan deal.
The deal will also include a currently undisclosed option-to-buy, but it is expected to be some way below the £15m that Everton paid for Maupay 12 months ago.
Apart from making Kevin Schade's loan move permanent, Brentford have not signed an attacker to fill in for the suspended Ivan Toney, who will not play until the new year.
Maupay started on the opening weekend for Everton, but after the signings of Beto and Youssef Chermiti and the return of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, the French striker looked set to fall down the pecking order at Goodison Park.
Thomas Frank is now set to be reunited with Maupay, as he was assistant during his signing from St. Etienne in 2017, before being promoted to the role of manager, where he oversaw much of Maupay's prolific 2018-19 season.
