The Football Association has handed Brentford forward Neal Maupay a three-match suspension.
Maupay stamped on Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn during the Championship fixture at Villa Park on Wednesday night, but the incident was missed by the match officials.
Villa boss Steve Bruce admitted that he wanted to see retrospective action for the player, but Brentford manager Dean Smith warned Villa not to pursue the matter due to Mile Jedinak's part in the incident.
However, Maupay - who scored both of Brentford's goals during the 2-2 draw - has accepted a charge of violent conduct and will not be available until after the international break.
The 22-year-old will now miss fixtures with Blackburn Rovers, Cheltenham Town and Nottingham Forest.
