Juan Carlos Osorio: Neymar antics "a shame for football"

Juan Carlos Osorio questions Neymar's playacting in Brazil's 2-0 win over Mexico, which he believes sets "a very bad example".

Mexico manager Juan Carlos Osorio has hit out at Brazil forward Neymar for giving football a bad name with his antics in Monday's World Cup last-16 tie.

Neymar's impressive display, which saw him score one and set up another for his side in a 2-0 win, was overshadowed by an incident late in the match at the Samara Arena.

Opposition midfielder Miguel Layun stepped on Neymar's ankle, causing the Paris Saint-Germain star to roll around on the floor near the two dugouts.

The officials felt that no action needed taking against Layun, and Osorio has questioned why the 26-year-old felt the need to react in the way that he did.

"I think it's a shame for football," he told reporters. "We wasted a lot of time because of one single player. We lost our style in the second half, because of the referee. This is a very bad example for the world and the world of football."

Neymar now has two goals and an assist from his four outings in Russia.
