Bradford City boss Phil Parkinson encouraged by Aaron McLean signing

Bradford City manager Phil Parkinson has said that the signing of Aaron McLean has given the club a big lift.

The 30-year-old striker has moved to the League One outfit for an undisclosed fee after signing a two-and-a-half-year deal.

Parkinson has conceded that there had been a negative vibe around the club following the sale of Nahki Wells to Huddersfield Town.

"It lifts the whole squad and it lifts the fans and that's important because Nahki had been an integral part of the success we've had," Parkinson told PA.

"Nobody wanted Nahki to go, there was an acceptance that at some point he was going to go, so it was important the striker we brought in was the right one and I do feel we've got the right one."

McLean could make his Bradford debut against Sheffield United on Saturday.
