Jermain Defoe has played down suggestions that he could leave Bournemouth for Rangers in the latter stages of this summer's transfer window.
Defoe, 35, scored four Premier League goals for the Cherries during the 2017-18 campaign.
The experienced forward has been linked with a move away from Bournemouth this summer, with Rangers - now managed by Steven Gerrard - one of a number of clubs believed to be interested.
Defoe, however, has insisted that there is nothing to the rumours on social media and in the newspapers.
"I saw some of that, but again, that's just something I've always had. Even when I've been at clubs and played every game, you'll always find something, especially with social media now," Defoe told reporters.
"I've played with Steven Gerrard and we've got the same agent. I'm just like everyone else, you see things on Twitter and in the papers, but that's it really."
Defoe has a contract with Bournemouth until the end of the 2019-2020 campaign.
