Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe: 'Burnley have been excellent'

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe says that Burnley have been "excellent" this season after establishing themselves as contenders for a top-seven place in the Premier League.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has claimed that Burnley have played with a "unique" style in the Premier League this season.

The Clarets currently sit in seventh place in the standings after winning six of their opening 13 games of the season and would have moved into fourth place had they defeated Arsenal last weekend.

The Cherries play host to Burnley at the Vitality Stadium on Wednesday night and Howe - who managed Burnley during 2011 and 2012 - has praised his former club for establishing themselves in the top half of the table.

The 39-year-old told reporters: "Burnley have been excellent in the Premier League. This year when I've watched them, they've been unique in the way they've played.

"They had a tough start against the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham and they've carried on their good form from there."

Bournemouth could potentially move into the top 10 of the standings with victory on the south coast.
