Tommy Elphick hails Eddie Howe impact at Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Tommy Elphick talks up the impact that manager Eddie Howe has had at the club since he returned to Dean Court in 2012.

Bournemouth defender Tommy Elphick has talked up the impact that manager Eddie Howe has made at the club.

Howe returned to Dean Court in 2012, and the Cherries have risen to the top of the Championship under the 37-year-old's guidance this term.

Elphick told Sky Sports News: "I remember the day the gaffer came back and from then, we didn't look back. He's given us a philosophy and a way of playing.

"For him to have that respect from all of us is the biggest compliment he can have and it's always fresh and when you come in [to training], there's something new to work on. Sessions are always set up and he doesn't stand still.

"Anyone who he thinks is standing still, he doesn't stand for it. We're up to about 11 clean sheets so far so that's impressive. We're open and expansive and sometimes we are left a bit short, but we don't mind that because it's exciting."

Bournemouth travel to Aston Villa in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday.
