Cherries are on a bad run.

Bournemouth defender Charlie Daniels has stressed the Cherries must stop conceding "silly" goals as they look to move on from their recent troubles.

Eddie Howe's men were thrashed 5-0 by Tottenham at Wembley on Boxing Day then beaten 4-1 at Manchester United on Sunday, making it eight losses in their last 10 Premier League games.

Daniels said ahead of Wednesday's home clash with Watford: "It was the same old story with us in these past few weeks. Letting in silly goals we need to stop doing.

"We can't concede goals and then start trying to play. It's something which happened against Spurs and again on Sunday.

"We created a few chances. If we took our chances then it could have been a different game."

When asked how big the match against Watford was going to be, Daniels said: "It's just got a little bit bigger.

"If we win that game at home with the crowd behind us, things will start to look a bit rosier."

Bournemouth, who have had three players sustain serious knee injuries since the start of November, are currently 12th in the table.

They were sixth at the end of October having suffered defeat in only two of their first 10 league games of the season and won six of them.

Daniels said: "You have to take the good with the bad.

"When we were doing really well everyone took the positives. When you do bad everyone has to take the negatives, really grind and get through it to come out the other side better for it.

"We have lost against the big teams and have had some crucial games in between which we have won. We beat Brighton (2-0 on December 22) and Huddersfield (2-1 on December 4) and they were a crucial six points.

"If we can go on a run like we did at the start of the season then the season will turn out a lot better.

"Starting against Watford, if we can pick up another three points then we can start building from there."
