Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the arrival of Julian Weigl from 1860 Munich on a four-year deal.
Weigl has impressed with his performances in Bundesliga 2 since his senior debut in February 2014, and he made 24 league appearances this season as Munich narrowly avoided relegation with a playoff triumph over Holstein Kiel.
The 19-year-old is currently with the Germany Under-20 squad for the World Cup in New Zealand and he will return to link up with Thomas Tuchel, who recently replaced Jurgen Klopp at Dortmund.
"Julian Weigl is an exciting prospect for our central midfield. We see great potential in him," Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc said in a statement.
Weigl becomes Dortmund's second signing of the summer following the arrival of Gonzalo Castro from Bayer Leverkusen.
