Bolton boss Owen Coyle believes that his side's 3-0 defeat at Manchester United is "harsh".

Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle believes that his side's 3-0 defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford was "harsh".

After goalkeeper Adam Bogdan had saved Wayne Rooney's penalty, goals from Paul Scholes, Danny Welbeck and Michael Carrick have seen the Trotters slump to 19th in the table.

"3-0 was bit harsh on us," said Coyle. "United had one or two chances in the first half and we had the penalty save, but in the second half we had some good opportunities and took a grip and the second goal was a huge turning point."

Bolton next host Macclesfield Town in their FA Cup tird round replay on Tuesday night.
