Former Blackpool defender Ian Evatt has rejoined Chesterfield on a two-year contract.

The 31-year-old, who left Bloomfield Road at the end of last season, made 84 league appearances for Chesterfield between 2003 and 2005 before departing to join Queens Park Rangers.

"I'm delighted to be back. My family is from around here and I know the area well," he told the club's official website.

"On and off the pitch, the club's run extremely well and they've got massive ambitions to become a Championship side.

"I want to do everything I can to help Chesterfield achieve this goal."

Evatt had previously been linked with a number of Championship clubs.
