Blackpool confirm the signing of striker Michael Chopra from Ipswich Town on a one-year deal.

Blackpool have announced that they have secured the signing of Michael Chopra on a permanent contract from Ipswich Town.

The 29-year-old had been expected to leave the Tractor Boys this summer and confirmed on Twitter yesterday that he was undergoing a medical.

The Seasiders announced on their official website that Chopra has agreed a one-year contract with the option of a further year.

Following the announcement, the striker took to the social networking website again to say: "Would like to thank ipswich town football club and there fans for the support they have given me in the last 2 years."

Chopra will wear the number eight shirt at Bloomfield Road.
