Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston will reportedly be banned from all football activity for six weeks.
The businessman has admitted five breaches of Football Association rules after he sent abusive text messages to a supporter.
Oyston has apologised for the angry exchange last year, in which he used a derogatory term to describe Tangerines fan Stephen Smith.
According to BBC Sport, the FA has decided that Oyston's punishment will come into effect in four weeks' time.
Blackpool, who dropped out of the Championship last month, recently appointed Neil McDonald as their new manager.
