Ian Hollway praises goalscorers Matt and Kevin Phillips, who both netted in Blackpool's 3-1 win over Cardiff City.

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has applauded the performances of Kevin and Matt Phillips after his side's 3-1 win at Cardiff City this afternoon.

Veteran striker Kevin netted the Tangerines' equaliser with a superb volley after Joe Mason had given the Carling Cup finalists a 59th-minute lead.

Namesake Matt then continued his impressive form by scoring twice late on as Blackpool completed their comeback to beat the promotion chasing Bluebirds on their own patch.

"Kevin is a top athlete. He ran in behind their backline and created the second goal too. He's absolutely brilliant and a joy to work with," said Holloway.

"He [Matt] struck the first one beautifully and rolled in the second. He's a fantastic player and I'm delighted with Matt. He's really blossoming."

With the result, Blackpool moved to within two points of third place Cardiff in the Championship table.
