Blackburn Rovers manager Paul Lambert has revealed that he has no intention of allowing Darragh Lenihan to leave the club on loan.
The 21-year-old has been used just once so far this campaign when playing the full 90 minutes in a 2-1 League Cup defeat to Shrewsbury Town.
Lenihan, who made a breakthrough into the first team at the tail end of last season, was a part of Rovers' squad for last weekend's trip to Bristol City and Lambert now intends to use the youngster more often.
"Darragh is close to the team so I certainly won't let him out on loan," he is quoted as saying by the Lancashire Telegraph. "I've been really impressed with him in the last couple of reserve and Under-21s games that I've seen.
"He's definitely got a big chance in the game with the way that he plays so he's one I won't be letting out on loan."
Lenihan is currently struggling with a back injury, which could force him out of this evening's meeting with Rotherham United at Ewood Park.
