David Dunn rescues point for Blackburn Rovers

David Dunn hits a stoppage-time equaliser to deny 10-man Burnley their first victory over Blackburn Rovers since 1979.

David Dunn struck a last-minute equaliser to deny 10-man Burnley their first victory over Blackburn Rovers since 1979.

The Clarets held a deserved lead courtesy of Jason Shackell's 32nd-minute strike.

Shackell nodded a Ross Wallace free kick against the post and then reacted first to tuck the rebound home from close range.

However, the visitors' task became more difficult after Ben Mee was sent off with 25 minutes remaining for two bookable offences.

Blackburn struggled to make their numerical advantage count, but they eventually levelled in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

Dunn collected Jason Lowe's simple pass before turning inside the penalty area and firing the ball low beyond goalkeeper Lee Grant, who had only previously had one save to make in the entire game.
