Former England captain Alan Shearer is reportedly keen to open talks with Blackburn Rovers regarding the vacant manager's position at Ewood Park.
Rovers have been on the lookout for a new leader since Steve Kean handed in his resignation on Friday.
Shearer, 42, who won the Premier League and scored 112 top-flight goals for the Lancashire club as a player, is believed to be a top target for the position.
According to The Mirror, the Match of the Day pundit is willing to meet with Rovers global advisor Shebby Singh this week.
Shearer took charge of Newcastle United for eight games at the end of the 2008-09 campaign. The Magpies won once and lost five times during that spell, before being relegated to the Championship on the final day of the season.
