Colin Hendry: Steve Kean deserves credit

Former Blackburn Rovers captain Colin Hendry praises current manager Steve Kean for the way he has handled the unrest at Ewood Park this season.

Former Blackburn Rovers captain Colin Hendry has praised current manager Steve Kean for the way he has handled the unrest at Ewood Park this season.

Rovers, who have spent most of the season in the drop zone, now find themselves five points clear of 17th-placed Bolton Wanderers following their midweek victory over Sunderland.

Hendry believes that Kean, who has had to endure calls for him to be sacked by fans, deserves credit for the way he has handled himself.

"[Steve Kean] has handled himself with great dignity and throughout all the protests," said Hendry.

"He's done a really, really great job and now he's battled through all the criticism and everything else and every credit to him and the players."

Blackburn face Bolton at the Reebok Stadium this afternoon.
