Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer rings the changes for tonight's Capital One Cup first-round encounter with League One side Carlisle United.

Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has made eight changes to his side for tonight's Capital One Cup clash with Carlisle United at Brunton Park.

The 42-year-old watched his side draw 1-1 with Derby County on Sunday and has chosen to rest some of his first team ahead of Saturday's visit of Nottingham Forest.

Among those starting their first Rovers game tonight are Simon Eastwood, Tom Cairney, Chris Taylor and Yann Songo'o, who only received international clearance this afternoon.

Record signing Jordan Rhodes is left on the bench, with Tony Kane, Alex Marrow and Joshua King being the only men who retain their place in the starting XI against the League One outfit.

Blackburn: Eastwood, Kane, Songo'o, Givet, Morris, Taylor, Marrow, Cairney, Olsson, Dunn, King

Carlisle: Gillespie, Potts, Livesey, Thirwell, James, Amoo, Berrett, Noble, Gillies, Beck, Guy
