Blackpool full-back Neil Eardley signs a three-year contract with Birmingham City that will see him join the Blues on a free transfer this summer.

Birmingham City have announced a deal to sign right-back Neil Eardley on a three-year contract.

The 24-year-old Wales international will complete his move to St Andrew's on July 1, when his current deal with Blackpool expires.

"I'm over the moon," Eardley told reporters. "To be signing for a club of this stature is the next step in my career and I'm hoping to get some games under my belt for a very big club and kick on.

"The opportunity came about and there were discussions between myself and those at the club, and I was just glad that we could get something agreed.

"I would never have turned down an opportunity to be signing for such a big club."

Eardley, who began his career at Oldham Athletic, has been capped 16 times at senior international level.
