Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson is confident that his side can escape the relegation zone in the Championship despite their 2-0 defeat to Birmingham City.

Strikes from Nikola Zigic and Chris Burke condemned the Posh to defeat at London Road despite them having some excellent chances throughout the game.

Ferguson told reporters: "Our position in the table doesn't change what we have to do.

"We still need to collect six wins from our last 14 games to have a shot at getting out of trouble and I believe we can do that."

Ferguson's side are currently bottom of the Championship, four points adrift of safety.
