Anatoliy Tymoshchuk confirms that he will leave Bayern Munich this summer and return to Zenit St Petersburg on a two-year deal.

Ukraine captain Anatoliy Tymoshchuk has confirmed that he is returning to Zenit St Petersburg this summer after a four-year spell at Bayern Munich.

The midfielder has agreed a two-year deal with the Russian side after celebrating a treble win with Bayern in his final season at the German giants.

The 34-year-old revealed the news on his personal website, claiming that he had "offers from around the world" but decided that it was right to go back to Zenit.

"Despite offers from around the world, I've decided to tie my future to the club where I have already experienced a lot of happy moments," read Tymoshchuk's statement.

"My contract comes into force on July 1 and for the next two years I'll be a player of Zenit St Petersburg, with whom I hope to secure new victories."

Tymoshchuk made 132 appearances for Bayern, scoring six goals, since joining in 2009.
