Borussia Dortmund confirm Mario Gotze return

Borussia Dortmund confirm that they have resigned Mario Gotze from Bayern Munich.

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that they have resigned Mario Gotze three years after he departed for rivals Bayern Munich.

The 24-year-old midfielder is thought to have signed a four-year contract worth £18.3m plus add-ons, according to Sky Deutschland.

Confirming the news, Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: "The talks were very fair and trustworthy, but we would like to thank Borussia Dortmund and Mario.

"I think the transfer is a good solution for all parties. Bayern would like to thank Mario for the three years he spent in the jersey of FC Bayern and wish him success in the future!"

During his four seasons in the senior Dortmund side, Gotze notched up 22 goals in 83 Bundesliga appearances.
