Bayern Munich name Mario Mandzukic up front in the absence of Mario Gomez.

Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes has opted for an attack comprising Thomas Muller and Mario Mandzukic in the absence of Mario Gomez.

Arjen Robben is also still injured for the hosts so a more narrow three behind Mandzukic has been named, including Franck Ribery on the left.

It also leaves Heynckes with few attacking options on the bench, with only Zherdan Shaqiri and Claudio Pizarro options in the final third.

Bayern: Neuer; Lahm, Badstuber, Dante, Alaba; Javi Martinez, Kroos; Ribery, Schweinsteiger, Muller; Mandzukic

Hannover: Zieler; Haggui, Cherundolo, Eggimann, Rausch; Pinto, Schmiedebach, Huszti, Stindl; Sobiech, Diouf
