Hamburger SV boss Joe Zinnbauer will "not forget" Bayern thrashing

Manager Joe Zinnbauer reveals that Hamburg's 8-0 loss at the hands of Bayern Munich will remain with him for the rest of his life.

Hamburger SV head coach Joe Zinnbauer has admitted that he will never forget the 8-0 defeat that his side suffered at the hands of Bayern Munich on Saturday.

The visitors were 3-0 down at the break before a further five goals after the restart completed the rout at the Allianz Arena.

Speaking after the final whistle, Zinnbauer conceded that the margin of the loss was justified on the balance of play.

"I'll not forget this day for the rest of my life. There's not a lot to discuss when you've lost 8-0," he told reporters.

"We have to apologise to our fans because 8-0 is unbelievable, although we did meet incredibly strong opponents today. The margin of victory is the right one."

The victory was Bayern's largest in the Bundesliga for 30 years.
