Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has said that it is an "honour" to be nominated for the FIFA Ballon d'Or alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Ribery was named in the final three for the award following a sensational year with Bayern in which he won the Bundesliga title, the Champions League, the German Cup, the European Supercup and the FIFA Club World Cup.
The 30-year-old, who also helped France to qualify for the World Cup, has described his own year as "outstanding" ahead of this evening's Ballon d'Or ceremony.
"It was important to win the Champions League with FC Bayern, but qualifying for the World Cup in Brazil with France was also unforgettable," Ribery told reporters.
"Qualification was tough, but we're happy to be there. 2013 was an outstanding year. I'm delighted to be here, it's an honour for me to be here alongside two great players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi."
Bayern are set for another memorable season this year as they currently lead the Bundesliga table by seven points and are among the favourites to retain the Champions League and the domestic cup.
