Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly interested in signing Luton Town's Teden Mengi during the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old made the permanent switch to Kenilworth Road from Manchester United ahead of the 2023-24 campaign, ending over a decade-long spell on the red side of Manchester.
Mengi has impressed Hatters head coach Rob Edwards with his displays at centre-back so far in the top flight, starting 15 Premier League matches for the newly-promoted side.
The England youth international managed to bag his maiden goal in first-team football earlier in the campaign, breaching the net of Sam Johnstone in a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace in late November.
According to The Mirror, Bayer Leverkusen are keeping tabs on Luton defender Mengi ahead of a potential swoop in the summer transfer window.

The report claims that the German club's chief UK scout Matthew Green was in attendance at Kenilworth Road on February 10 when the Hatters played Sheffield United, hoping to catch a glimpse of the youngster in the flesh.
Unfortunately for Luton - and any potential admirers in the stands - Mengi was an unused substitute in the 3-1 loss to Chris Wilder's Blades due to a slight ankle injury.
It is understood that Leverkusen scout Green has been in discussions with Luton chief executive officer Gary Sweet over a deal for Mengi at the conclusion of the campaign.
After being linked to fellow Premier League sides Crystal Palace and Fulham in the New Year, Hatters boss Edwards ruled out a January move away for the 21-year-old.

However, with Luton's first-tier status in doubt as the campaign approaches its business end, a summer switch for Mengi is a distinct possibility.
Having offloaded the defender last summer, Man United included a sell-on clause in the deal with Luton, meaning that Erik ten Hag's side are in line to benefit from a future sale.
Following loan spells at Derby County and Birmingham City before a permanent move to strugglers Luton, a summer transfer to the Bundesliga leaders would represent a meteoric rise for the Man United academy graduate.
Xabi Alonso's men are still unbeaten after 22 matches of the German top-flight season, sitting eight points ahead of perennial champions Bayern Munich.
