Andre Schurrle broke the deadlock on the stroke of half time with a stunning strike from 30 yards.

Stefan Kiessling doubled the hosts' advantage with a precise low finish from close range on 67 minutes.

Kiessling had the chance to double his tally from the penalty spot 10 minutes from time, when Roman Neustadter was penalised for a foul on Schurrle. However, Kiessling was denied by a superb save from Bernd Leno.
