Bayern Munich slip to their first defeat of the Bundesliga season at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen.

Bayern Munich's 100% record in the Bundesliga was ended by Bayer Leverkusen at the Allianz Arena this evening.

Visiting Leverkusen took the lead three minutes before the break when Stefan Kiessling turned in a pass from Andre Schurrle.

The hosts created numerous chances after the restart and they eventually claimed an equaliser in the 77th minute. Claudio Pizarro found Croatian international Mario Mandzukic inside the area and he in turn slotted the ball into the net.

Despite seeing their lead disappear, the away team regained the advantage with three minutes left when Sidney Sam turned in a cross from Daniel Carvajal.

Munich still top the table despite the defeat.
