Sami Hyypia to shadow Roy Hodgson

Bayer Leverkusen manager Sami Hyypia arranges to spend next week shadowing England boss Roy Hodgson ahead of crucial World Cup qualifiers.

Bayer Leverkusen boss Sami Hyypia will reportedly spend next week's international break with the England squad, shadowing Three Lions coach Roy Hodgson.

Hyypia has arranged to monitor Hodgson as he prepares for England's World Cup qualifiers against Poland and Montengero, looking to gain experience from his former manager.

Hodgson worked with Hyypia during his time as Finland boss in 2006 and has agreed to be shadowed for part of next week by the former Liverpool defender, according to Bild.

Leverkusen have made a strong start to the Bundesliga in Hyypia's first year in sole charge at the BayArena, sitting third in the table with six wins in seven games.
