Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay has insisted that it wouldn't come as a surprise if Ben Turner were attracting the attention of England.
It was reported earlier this week that Turner had impressed the England management team, and Mackay has praised the credentials of the 25-year-old.
The 41-year-old told Wales Online: "Ben is a top young professional who is determined to be the best that he can.
"I'm not surprised that England would look at him. He's playing at the top level, he's young and he's English.
"I would be surprised if Roy Hodgson and his staff were not monitoring every option that they had. We are talking about a pool of players that is not actually that big when you consider the influx of foreign players into the Premier League."
The former Coventry City player has featured in all five of Cardiff's Premier League fixtures this season.
