Report: Bayer Leverkusen not considering appointing David Moyes

Bayer Leverkusen reportedly rule out appointing recently-sacked Manchester United boss David Moyes as their new manager.

Bayer Leverkusen have reportedly decided against making an approach for David Moyes following his dismissal by Manchester United.

The Scotsman was sacked by the Red Devils on Tuesday after overseeing the side lose 15 matches during his first season in charge at Old Trafford.

With the former Everton boss now out of work, there have been questions over where Moyes, who has previously expressed an interest in managing in Germany, will head to for his next job.

Leverkusen are in the market for a new coach following the dismissal of ex-Liverpool defender Sami Hyypia.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Leverkusen chiefs have ruled out appointing Moyes because they are looking for a younger candidate and believe that the Scotsman, who was earning £5m per year at Old Trafford, would be too expensive.

Moyes, who was chosen by Sir Alex Ferguson as his successor, lasted less than 10 months at United.
