Basel confirm Paolo Sousa exit

Basel confirm the exit of head coach Paulo Sousa following reports that he will take charge of Fiorentina this summer.

Basel have confirmed the exit of head coach Paulo Sousa as he prepares to take charge of Fiorentina.

The 44-year-old won the Swiss Super League in his only season with Basel, but he has been repeatedly linked with a move to Serie A after Fiorentina decided to part company with Vincenzo Montella.

"FC Basel and Paulo Sousa have reached a consensus on an immediate separation," Basel revealed on Twitter.

Fiorentina have not yet commented on reports that Sousa, who has spent time with Queens Park Rangers, Swansea City and Leicester City, has agreed to join them this summer.
