Barcelona star Lionel Messi has revealed that it would be a dream come through to lead Argentina to World Cup glory in the summer.
The South American giants have not won the competition for some 28 years following a Diego Maradona-inspired triumph in the 1986 edition of the tournament.
Although the 26-year-old admits that coach Alejandro Sabella has a few creases to "iron out" with the current generation, Messi says the team is improving ahead of the tournament in June.
"Winning a World Cup is the dream of the entire country," he told Marca. "Our team has grown and although we have to iron out some details I think we are getting there.
"It'd be a dream to play in the final, whether against Brazil or anyone else."
The Argentine has fired 19 goals for the Catalan giants in all competitions this season.
