Angel Torres: 'Djene Dakonam not leaving Getafe'

Getafe president Angel Torres insists that Djene Dakonam - previously linked with Barcelona - will not be leaving the Spanish club.

Getafe president Angel Torres has insisted that Djene Dakonam will not be leaving the Spanish club.

Dakonam joined Getafe from Belgian outfit Sint-Truden in the summer of 2017 and impressed during his first season in La Liga, scoring once in 36 appearances during the 2017-18 campaign.

This term, meanwhile, he has made 16 appearances for El Geta in all competitions.

The Togo international is believed to have a £31m release clause inserted into his current deal, and it has been reported that Barcelona have been scouting the defender this season.

"Djene is completely focused on Getafe," Marca quotes Torres as saying. "If I decide to sell Djene then [Getafe coach Jose] Bordalas is gone!"

Dakonam, who has also previously spent time with Segunda Division club Alcorcon, was linked with Leicester City during the recent summer transfer window.
